Description: This is the largest, earliest and most intact wooden reclining Buddha extant in China. This Buddha is carved with a whole red poplar wood, which is one thousand years old, and is very rare, without any connection. According to textual research, this lying statue carved in Dading 20 years of Jin Dynasty. With its head east and foot west, hand leaning on the right ear, eyes slightly closed, Sakyamuni Buddha is facing the northwest of the temple door lying on his side, whose expression is of peace and holiness. With cinnabar coated bottom, its red gold veneer cassock is elegant. The whole reclining Buddha is placed in a wooden shrine, which is also painted with splendid murals during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty.
