Yuncheng Preschool Education College is the first batch of national upgrading college and the only preschool education college in Shanxi Province. It is situated in Yuncheng city, the south of Shanxi province. Yuncheng is known as “Hedong”, which connects Beijing and Tianjin in the north, Hubei and Guangdong in the south, Henan and Shandong in the east, and Qinba area in the west. It has the reputation as “The Golden Triangle of the Yellow River” of Shanxi, Shaanxi, and Henan Province.
The college covers an area of 540 mu, with a construction area of 180.146 thousand square meters. The total value of teaching equipment is 30.3944 million Yuan, and the library has a collection of 604.9 thousand books. It has a faculty and staff of 481 people, including 50 professors and associate professors, 70 teachers with graduate degree, and 33 provincial model teachers, provincial subject leaders, provincial teaching experts. There are 2 affiliated kindergartens, 210 off-campus educational practice bases, and 7 national and provincial training bases. Currently, the total enrollment is 6855 students. The college consists of 5 departments, including Department of Preschool Education, Department of Language and Literature, Department of Art, Department of Fine Arts, and Department of Basic Teaching. It offers 12 majors, including preschool education, Chinese education, English education, music education, dancing education, fine arts education, physical education, early education, tourism English, dancing performance, art design, and hosting and broadcasting.
So far, Yuncheng Preschool Education College has trained more than 30000 talents of preschool education, with 98.7% employment rate. With the motto of “People-Orientation, Morality First”, the college carries out construction projects of “1331” (first-class major, first-class curriculum, first-class faculty, first-class facility, first-class service, and first-class quality). In 2017, its connotative construction has achieved remarkable results, winning 7 national honors, 33 provincial honors and 28 city-level honors. In the first Competition of Classroom Teaching of Excellent Teachers jointly held by Yuncheng Bureau of Education, Yuncheng Federation of Trade Unions and Yuncheng Labor Competition Committee, 5 teachers recommended by our college have all won the prizes, including 1 special prize, 2 first prizes, 2 second prizes, ranking first in four higher vocational colleges. Among them, 3 teachers have been awarded the titles of “Top Teachers of Yuncheng”. Through years’ exploration and development, with clear patterns of talents cultivation, exact orientation, scientific methods, and strong measures, the college has carried out the educational concept of “cooperation between college and enterprise” and “practice-orientation”, optimizing the structure of majors and improving the quality of curriculum and talents cultivation. The school has realized full coverage of campus network and installed intelligent water-saving facilities, shared hair dryers and monitoring equipment, equipped with modern teaching facilities and equipment and practical training projects.
